The story
Violetta is celebrated in Parisian salons, loved by everyone yet committed to no one. Then she meets Alfredo. For the first time, she chooses love over living for the moment. What follows is a struggle between happiness and social convention, between what the heart wants and what the world demands. Verdi based it on La Dame aux camélias by Alexandre Dumas fils and made it his most personal opera.

From the sparkling drinking song to the fragile silence of the ending: this is Verdi at his most powerful. The arias carry the whole story, from exuberant joy to a farewell that stays with you. And everything sounds as it should, with a full orchestra live in the hall.
